I decided to group by position and then date of visit within each position to try to give an idea of the tactics the visit dates suggest. Assuming we take a small class this fall.

I guess it is a good thing as we don’t have to be strung along all the way to the end knowing we’re going to lose out on super high end recruits. Small class so focus on 2027, clear out dead weight on current roster, fill key needs with second tier players and keep it moving. It is always kind of hard to watch at this point in Rhule’s program to have them dump so many resources into a top 10 position target player and then fall way back after inevitably being eliminated in their top 3-5. I like that they swing for the fences but the plan Bs have been a huge fall off.

It always annoys me when fans (both Nebraska and other school) sense that a player is slipping away and they always point to NIL as the driving factor. Sure there are some schools that throw bags indiscriminately but a lot of times it’s just kids deciding for one reason or another that a school isn’t for them, but just saying “oh well we don’t throw money around like school X so obviously that’s why he didn’t choose us” is such a lazy perspective

I'll still never forget the van rides out to State for Baseball when I was 13 or so. Our 2 coaches (the van drivers) were college kids and probably had no business chaperoning a bunch of 13 year olds on a trip from Lincoln out to Scottsbluff.
Along the way, boredom got the best of us in the 2nd van and we started peeling the covers off of some of the really worn baseballs. At the next gas station stop, we bought a bunch of army men and as we drove, we unraveled the yarn on the baseball and started tying the army men to it. Eventually, we started letting the line out one of the back windows, watching the army men grind on the interstate and jump up and down as the wind caught the yarn.
Imagine the surprise of our coach when about 30 minutes later, his rearview mirror was lit up with Highway Patrol lights. We got pulled over and yelled at pretty good by the Officer. He said they had fielded a ton of calls about it prior to him being dispatched. Thankfully all we got was a warning and we continued on our way to Scottsbluff...

Ah, so Rusty thinks he gets visit in after. Rusty a trusted industry guy. But....,soFlo said Dawgs aren't going to match the energy of Nebraska here, with the visit from staff and all. Either he'll be a dawg that portals to Nebraska, or a Husker that portals to Athens, although auto correct tried to slip "potatoes to Athens" in on me.
