Funny thing is that I agree with everything in this post and if @park_neb and @Goskers07 would have said that I would have said so then. Instead we are comparing stats. I think the talent we’ve gotten this year is a wash. Our biggest addition is the return of Mast.
So you wanted a hypothetical, then got given an anecdotal hypothetical that you said was not good enough. So you were given an analytical one and then decided you didn’t want a hypothetical. Then you were given another anecdote and came back with a “well why didn’t you just say that?”

Man, just call it a day.

Lawrence > Worster
Williams > whomever
Sandfort = = Gary
Berke = Berke (will '26 be better than 25?)
Mast > Meah

Jarusevicius > Morgan
Blue > Ulis

And we're still hunting. Griffiths was irrelevant so there's another + for the 2026 roster.
At this point I’m fully expecting him to tell you this only counts if you mix up who you’re comparing to who now.

Worse than trying to figure out where your woman wants to eat at for dinner

Meaningless for who? It certainly wasn't meaningless to the players who got paid. It wasn't meaningless for momentum into the off-season.

When the NIT was a bigger deal back in the 90’s and early 2000’s I’d agree. Also if we were returning a bulk of our starters I’d also tend to agree (not as much so, though).

But the non-Madness tournaments now don’t do anything for recruiting if that’s what you mean momentum-wise. It was entertaining to watch tho and let the seniors have another couple games to claim something on their way out. I wouldn’t really call letting the seniors get paid as momentum more as just a nice send off, which is also a great thing.

Seton Hall won the NIT last year against a touted Indiana State team that should’ve pry made the tournament and both lost a lot of guys and were terrible this year.

Do you know why?

RW:

Finally got some info on Utah transfer forward Ezra Ausar's visit to Nebraska this weekend.

As expected, the visit went very well. Nebraska really pushed the opportunity for Ausar to come in and make an immediate impact next season, so I get the sense they view him as a potential Day 1 starter.

Ausar has an agent, but his dad and brothers are also helping him through the recruiting process. It sounds like his family is very close.

I'm told that Nebraska feels good about where it stands coming out of the visit, but it will have some competition over the next few days.

Ausar is visiting USC today and is scheduled to visit Villanova on Wednesday. We'll see if the Villanova visit happens, but it's on the schedule as of now. The Trojans just landed commitments from Virginia transfer Jacob Cofie and CSUN wing transfer Keonte Jones. They also picked up Youngstown State center transfer Gabe Dynes and Sanford forward Jaden Brownell.

We'll see if that many recent frontcourt additions impact USC's chances with Ausar.

I'm told that Ausar is expected to make a decision by the end of the week, likely by Friday or Saturday at the latest. So, that's the timeline for this week.

I'll pass along anything else I hear along the way.
