Chiefs dad is a football promoter and knows a lot of famous coaches and players. Chief grew up with and knows a lot of these people too (including Deion), so I'm guessing he has a lot of people in his ear about his worth.

The kid actually isn't bad. He just got buried behind better players. I don't think anyone expected Butler and Princewill to do as good as they did last year

So Matt Ishbia and David Tepper both made like a gazillion dollars doing things that aren't running sports franchises and now have each run a franchise into the ground in ~2-3 years.

Now think about NIL dudes who aren't nearly that successful personally and apply the same discount on sports competence.

I don't think so. I think his dad is smart enough not to get him in that mess. But with as crazy as things are now it wouldn't surprise me either.

With his and his dad's connections I would guess he already knows where he is going.

I’m not surprised with the “well we didn’t like you anyway” response, but this is not one of the players we wanted in the portal. He was starting at Jack for us which allowed Gbayor to play LB given our weakness there.

If they truly trotted out 1s vs 1s for the first series, he did not start. Sherman started there.

First LB group out was Sherman at Jack and Shavers and Gbayor in the middle.

He's small and okay at best at the point of attack.

I am not hating, I liked what he said and what he showed online but that's all I have to go off of.

For all I know he's a great kid. That doesn't mean we should overreact to him leaving.

2.) Sherman
3.) McGahee

I think it's a position that can handle the 3rd guy in the rotation leaving.

That's not correct. Nebraska has three future draft picks on their DLine. It's the going rate.

Here's an example:

Fidone will get paid between a 400 and 500k package next season. That's good money. But the aforementioned schools above would all be willing to double that amount at the minimum.

On the flipside, a player like Chief Borders earning 120K in NIL at Nebraska is higher than what a 4th year non contributor would add at Bama or Ohio State. Hell, they would run him off.

Don't be surprised to see Borders end up at a G5 program or if he goes to another Power 5. And don't be surprised to see him in the portal again.

I would bet he goes to a G5 to be able to start. He had multiple chances at Power 5 schools.
