There are lots of back ups earning 6 figures at Nebraska. The only difference between Nebraska and the big time NIL players like USC, Oregon, Ohio State, Tennessee, Bama, Georgia, Penn State, Texas, A&M, and Notre Dame is the amount of money they are paying the elite difference makers. But, Nebraska is doing a good job of balancing out the NIL. Newcomers, Freshmen, and back ups are getting paid pretty evenly.
Here's an example:
Fidone will get paid between a 400 and 500k package next season. That's good money. But the aforementioned schools above would all be willing to double that amount at the minimum.
On the flipside, a player like Chief Borders earning 120K in NIL at Nebraska is higher than what a 4th year non contributor would add at Bama or Ohio State. Hell, they would run him off.
Don't be surprised to see Borders end up at a G5 program or if he goes to another Power 5. And don't be surprised to see him in the portal again.
