I'm lost...

This is the guy that used to run Penn states recruiting department before wanting to coach again. Now he’s getting back into the recruiting department at Nebraska. But for the time being Nebraskas activated him to coach.

He did the same for Rhule at temple.

I thought that was EJ Barthel?

*checks notes … maybe.

All I have for Barthel is he coaches a white RB at UConn and that’s a red flag I guess
I know nothing about Omar Hales, so maybe they do share a similar background. But this is Barthel's career overview...

From the Eastern website:

“Omar Hales joins the Eastern University football staff as the program's first special teams coordinator.

A Philadelphia native, Hales played his college football at Temple University before beginning his coaching career at powerhouse Imhotep Charter in Northwest Philadelphia. In his time as defensive coordinator, the Panthers were 38-5 and allowed fewer than 10 points per game. The football program produced multiple Division I athletes.

After his stint at Imhotep Charter, Hales returned to his alma mater, where he served as a graduate assistant and recruiting assistant under current Carolina Panthers and former Temple Head Coach Matt Rhule. After a two-year stop at Temple, Hales moved on to Rutgers for another two years, serving as a recruiting assistant before following Rhule to Baylor.

While at Baylor, Hales served as a director of scouting and defensive quality control assistant. Baylor finished the 2019 regular season with an 11-1 record before falling to the Jalen Hurts led Oklahoma Sooners in overtime at the Big 12 Championship game.

Hales comes to Eastern from the Carolina Panthers organization where he served with the team as a Bill Walsh Coaching Fellow.

Hales will join the the Eastern staff immediately and will be actively involved in building Eastern's roster and recruiting network.”

Given the bio that @Napkins just posted, I'm happy to welcome him onboard as a crootin' specialist. IF he's our RB corch, then our last few hires had better be blessed with lots of experience and game day acumen to compliment the preponderance of youth on the staff. My $0.02 worth.

Bartels is the RB coach
