That's short sighted. I think many people that have been in management have had situations where you had someone that was a high performer but a serious pain in the ass and at some point in time, you had to decide if the juice was worth the squeeze. I've seen plenty of good sales people let go for that very reason.

The really fucked up part is that I read USC still has their ST guy and they don't even have a DC yet. I would think the new guy would want to pick his staff. Makes no sense right now.

Perhaps.....but we don't know if he's a serious pain in the ass. We do know he's a very good ST coach. Pretty likely we get worse on ST next year if Ek moves on and we can't afford to.

I'd think one of the benefits of having a CEO type head coach would be the ability to manage his other coaches. Instead we're seemingly letting him walk and getting this autistic response that we don't need him and we're gonna be even better on ST next year.

Absolutely not. Lincoln Riley is on the hot seat at USC. If he hired a defensive coordinator who hasn't held the role since 2016 at North Texas he could gone by next year
