Maybe, but a lot of folks appreciated what Gronowski did this season and he was a 70% reduction in TDs and a 0% increase in interceptions over the mean. Average TD:INT at FCS was 13:3, at Cockeye it was 4:3.

I think he is a rare case in that his skill guys were worse at Cockeye than they were at SDSU

I believe all players were paid something. If you were on the roster you got a couple thousand from the video game.

That might be a bad example though because I don't think that went through the school.

Back in the day we had a lot of players that other big programs were after. Also had s&c dominance and prop 48 dudes.

Iwbhwo, we know we'll never win a natty again, but we can inch our way up to where the Cockeye type of progrums are. If we want 'ships, we need to forget about modern p2 football and go FCS. Obviously that will not happen.

What specifically do you take issue with? If it is anything in the first paragraph then you must've either not been paying attention or weren't around for the "back in the day" teams.

Correct, that's what im asking, I believe we currently have about 19 or so grandfathered players that dont count towards the cap next year. We are going to take a dozen transfers easily IMO.

Yes, but we know some of these kids are grandfathered. If we are giving our 5th and 6th string QB a penny thus not allowing for them to be grandfathered, we are idiots

It feels like we can't do what we want with the funds available. I also believe it's only going to get crazier. Back in the day we did it with a system that steamrolled motherfuckers, with dudes other teams didn't necessarily look at. We all know those days are over, but how do we really compete in this new world? Maybe I just don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. It wouldn't be the first time.

We have the 10th highest grossing athletic department in the country with over $1B.

you can de-roster anyone, even f the are on scholarship. It may be you can’t stop the scholarship but if they are de-rostered they can’t be on the team in any way. The one time grandfathering was just for people getting derostered because the roster limit went to 105.

New market valuations from CNBC are out. Pretty telling of how big business CFB has really become.

Some notes:

• Nebraska checks in at #10 (respectable)...but it's part of this that makes me annoyed when people say, "We can afford to compete with the big boys" we are still a very big player.
• Texas is in it's own league (no shock). They just have no meaningful financial limits lol
• The top 11 are 5 SEC, 5 B1G and Independent Notre Dame (refuse to call them ACC)
• In the top 30 are 13 SEC, 12 B1G and 4 ACC (5 if you count ND)
• The first B12 team checks in at #39...
