Playoff Games Thread

Just to clarify, I don't suspect you want some 1950's to 1990's statue in the pocket QB who gets blown up like Hiroshima by some moderately able edge rusher???

I know I don't want the next version of Tanner Lee, nor Sam Keller, nor Zac Lee. Truthfully you can be accurate as a QB and still suck if you can't help your OL and your WRs by being able to roll out onto the edges, and force DBs to choose between bad and really bad options.

It isn't 1969, and there aren't going to be any more Joe Namath's winning Super Bowls. QBs have to have some capacity to run, even if it is only to the sidelines and 3 yds.

Just go look at who is now drafted in the NFL, and you'll see how much this has changed.

My friends, who were classic statue QB fans, told me that this would never happen in the NFL, and I told them they were smoking crack. I was right, as I usually am.
Every position is getting more athletic. Arm talent and knowing how to move around in the pocket is still the most valuable. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were great about moving to the right place without having any ability to run.

OU made the playoff with 4 dudes starting on Offensive Line that are Grant Brix’s age or younger just for the record. Enough the with the narrative you cant build a good offensive line fast
OU also had maybe the best defense in the country. Their offense wasn't very good.

I agree with your premise that kids seem to be ready to play younger these days. It's more about getting the right players than just getting older. Better yet would be the right players that are also older and more experienced.

SIAP, does Charmar Brown play at all for Miami?
I have been watching the game only passivly, but I have not heard his named mentioned. (Except for when they were talking about the fumble being the first fumble lost by Miami since Brown fumbled a while back.)
