People must've forgot how inept the offenses were under Blo when we had Shawn Watson and Tim Beck as our OC's. Had those offense were somewhat competent, Nebraska would've won a Conference Championship in 2009 & 2010. Not sure if Scott is correct answer, but the wheels were coming off the bus under Blo and Riley might've had a good third year if he wasn't forced to fire Banker for that other dipshit DC who liked to wear sweaters. I really don't think there is a magical coach out there outside of Nick Saban that can fix Nebraska.

The 2010 offense was as good as we have had since Solich when Martinez was healthy. It was pretty dynamic with his speed. When he went down so did the offense. They would have easily beat OU with a healthy Martinez.

Neither of those teams beats this one.

I can say both do. No one is going to prove it. You have to look at all three phases. Our special teams alone could lose games to any Pelini team. Like I said let’s see how the season plays out. Hopefully we win the next two and take one of the last three. That’s an achievable goal for this team.

The East is stronger for sure because PSU and Biff's Butthole Surfers are much better programs today. The west isn’t much different. Purdue is better I think. Wisconsin, Cockeye, and Northwestern are similar teams to what they were when Bo was here. Minnesota isn’t much different either. Kill was getting to a bowl every year. Illinois has always sucked.

Bo played two total top ten teams at the time the game was played in the regular season in that timeframe. Cockeye was going through a resurgence, Urban hadn’t quite gotten tOSU where they were when he left, Franklin wasn’t at PSU, Harbaugh wasn’t at Biff's Butthole Surfers, and so on. You hopefully are seeing my point.

Does a single Pelini team during that timeframe finish this schedule with a winning record? They absolutely drop Oklahoma, MSU, and Biff's Butthole Surfers by 20+ because Pelini teams in prime time against ranked opponents were absolutely awful. Could they get 6? Do you think a Pelini led team wins 2 of the last 5 this year? I’d give them Purdue and I’d bank on the idea he’d likely get deep dicked by multiple TDs against tOSU, Cockeye, and Wisconsin because it was 100% a Pelini thing to get hammered by anyone who was any good and Wisconsin regardless of their record. So the question becomes could Pelini beat Fleck? I think the answer is no.

I’m not going to disagree if you the records back it up. The one that surprises me a little is Cockeye. I bet kirk passes it off to his son in the next year or two. I know you don’t think much of him, but I think he will keep it going.

Many people forget that ferentz hit some pretty quality highs early in his career and then took a really hard crash and almost got canned. They were really struggling when we came into the league.

I think Ferentz jr is basically the Tommy Callahan of that operation. Cockeye people can probably speak to this better than I and it’s been a long time since I’ve spoken to my Cockeye people, but the feeling was in the winter of 2019-2020, after the whole racist thing, that James had basically no shot of getting that job when Kirk was done and they believed Jay Norvell would get it. That might be incorrect now.
