Point #4 is what catches my eye. Like I said in another thread, it could be as simple as TJ fits DH's scheme better than DR and hence little DR.
I know Holgo really struggled when he didn't have elite level QBs (4 or 5 star), but someone else would need to figure out if that was more of a Lateef-style or Raiola-style. I guess I always assumed it was more of a pocket passer for him.

I believe Rhule can throw his weight around more with the Raiola’s since Dylan’s NIL value has gone down & he likely won’t get a similar deal elsewhere.

Dylan will have some suitors for sure but I think Rhule can make some changes he wants & look at it as a win-win. Lateef may not do great to finish the year but I would love to be notre dame with a line & 2 RBs that can run all day

For the record, Nebraska is going to be more than fine with the Dayton decommitment.

Really the only thing that's a question for me is what this means for Dylan and 2026. That's really the only thing that effects Nebraska in my opinion.

Secondarily is us not recruiting Jett due to Dayton's commitment. But I've already said that and probably nothing we can do now.

Well yeah I don’t think anyone is worried about actually losing Dayton. It’s what does this mean for Dylan (and Donnie).

Agree with your comment on Jett. But it appears we will have a solid starting QB in 2026 regardless then the true savior arrives in 2027.

If Dylan does leave, it will give the Lateef-eans great joy as after a game and a half it's very clear that Lateef is the fit we've been looking for to take us to our playoff run next year.

My thinking is the lad saw the writing on the wall. Lateef and then Trae Taylor in front of him…Dayton probably not a kid who wants to sit the bench. They are both better QBs. He will land somewhere. I wish him the best.

Hey, let's look at the bright side they lost their lowest rated recruit (Dayton) and gained a 5 Star (Odem) today for the 2026 class.

But seriously good for Dayton hopefully he finds someplace that he will actually be able to play.
If that's all it is then that's a good day for Huskers. Opened up a spot that was a nepo spot.

Luckily -

If the coaches think they need another QB to replace Dayton they can hit the portal.

If Dylan leaves they can hit the portal.

If Lateef struggles the next three games they can hit the portal.

That's the good thing about the portal it can be an eraser for mistakes made along the recruiting trail especially at QB.

Holy fucking meltdown boys. Dayton probably got some late interest from schools where he has a chance to compete year 1. I'd do the same thing if I were him.

Or he started snorting COCAINE and now his life is spiraling and he doesn’t know if he wants to play football anymore so he’s gonna go work at a lumberyard for a year in Texas and then a local college coach will see him throw a football and will recruit him and then he’ll become the quarterback there but there will be lots of drama and he will get someone pregnant

Who cares at this point what he was rated in high school?

I think he's a quite good (but not elite) QB, and I also think his uncle is an average at best OL coach. Are we stuck with Donnie because Dean's peers said his nephew was a 5 star three years ago?

Most folks would love to keep both Dylan and TJ on the roster and upgrade the OL (players and possibly coach as well). That's likely not realistic both because of the family implications and limited resources, so what is the next best option? Run it back?
Limited resources?
