Raiola has not played a P4 defense as bad as UCLA's.

Like @SantaBarbaraSker has been saying, I'm happy for TJ and hope he does the same against Penn St and Cockeye, but the UCLA game wasn't some grand turning point for the offense or the team or the program. We beat a really bad team by 7.

2024 Purdue was easily worse than 2025 UCLA on defense.

And that game was 7-3 going into the 4th Q

when our offense featured vaunted playcaller Satterfield, and elite WRs such as Alex Bullock

Dylan hasnt been elite. But hes been good, and has gotten better - with still a lot to work on.

He also had two Game Winning drives this year. Something a Nebraska QB hasnt done in about 10 years. Im not sure what the obsession with trashing Raiola is.

His leading WRs that were Jahmal Banks, Emmett Johnson, Jacory Barney, and Thomas Fidone.
Arguably better than what Lateef had vs ucla since Fidone made an nfl roster

I'll put this out there for Dylan staying/leaving.

In short, what I'm saying is there is a lot more to him, "his brand" than just football. He has God first, family second, brothers third, football fourth. And he uses his football talents and brand to advance the kingdom. He has established and continues establishing it here in Lincoln and I believe that isn't something he'll walk away from.

I've talked to Dylan a couple times at church and on our sideline at a high school game. He attends my church and lives a block and half away from me. I've talked to a lot of people who interact with him and they all say the same thing about him. He believes his legacy is much bigger than himself and he's creating a brand to move that forward. I don't have a big personal connection to him, but we cross paths a lot. He attends a lot of the same things I do.

He's really strong in his faith and he prays about everything he does and listens to what God is telling him. He started and leads a bible study on the team which originally was 5-6 guys, and now expanded into other sports. Grew so much they had to split it off into smaller groups. They're really accountable to one another. The size of the post game prayer is a testament to how much he has helped grow faith within the football team. The brotherhood that he has helped lead out on has changed the lives of a lot of the team. Speaking with Ron Brown, he said this team is probably his most faith based driven team he's been around.

He started an annual Revival Night with our Church and has plans for several other events partnered with our Church over the next few years. Yes, he does have a superstar status in Lincoln, but it's a different type of status, he's looking to use his position in football to build the Kingdom of God and bring the younger generation to follow Jesus. The event was a few weeks ago and he brought up 10 other guys to share their testimonies. He's helping change people's lives through Jesus. He's not the typical college aged kid and I truly believe he's called to do that right here in Lincoln.

Maybe Dylan is have 2nd thoughts… people forget Dylan’s mom asked him if he still wanted to do this when he got hurt… don’t know exactly what that means.

Ok. I changed my mind. All aboard the TJ “the locomotive” Lateef train. ALL
ABOARD

If you think of it, his decision to come to Nebraska severely backfired. He could be starting as a redshirt freshman for the defending national champion. With the most talented roster and a great coaching staff but instead he’s injured and 90% of the fan base here is hoping he leaves because we found a scambley boi who won 1 game against the worst team in the conference. Despite the fact that with a mostly mid supporting cast, Dylan has led us to the 1st 2 bowl games since 2016.
It is a bit crazy. I know he's not a perfect QB, but he's a damn good one and led us on multiple game winning drives this year (how long has it been since we've been able to do that????). He's only worked hard and made himself better the whole time he's been here. He seems to be a great teammate and loves Nebraska.

I hope Lateef is great, but the best thing you can say is that although we don't have enough data, he did pretty well against one of the worst defenses we've played this year.

I just don't get how so many in the fan base are absolute ass towards him

I swear I read recently that NU was going after, or maybe just talking to, a more athletic QB in the portal. Perhaps it was a Juco, but I cannot recall or find where I read it.

Also, whatever happened to the Purdue Transfer? Not suggesting he will pose a challenge to TJ, but I thought he was higher rated than Kaelin, and a better scrambler.

I’m absolutely content with putting all chips in on TJ and making a splash hire for OL coach. I just don’t like having no backup until Trae trots into town.

Because fans are mostly morons.

The 2nd string QB is always the answer. Raiola has been really good for Nebraska. He's gotten them bowl eligible 2 years in a row. Something no other QB had done in a long ass time.
