Can't believe they allowed that Northwestern to have that first down. Refs need to be publicly fined/banned. No way you can explain how that was a first down.

The ball definitely needed to be at the 26 and not the 25. Whether that was a first down or not, I don't know. The line on the television screen was way off. Makes me wonder if they were challenging the first down call, or just the spot of the ball or if in this case, that is just semantics? The spot was obviously wrong, but I don't know if the first down was obviously wrong. They should have respotted the ball and measured.

He came down close to where the actual sideline marker was. However, the ball was clearly on the 26 and they spotted it on the 25. The spot was terrible.

Nah, it was probably 1/4 to 1/2 yard short from the actual marker. You could basically create an invisible line out and it was clearly short.

I guess that's possible. The spot on the 25 was indefensible, but I'm only about 80% sure it wasn't a first down based on what I saw live on tv.

Spots on both sides in this game were plus or minus one yard all day long. It was bad.

I can't recall one either.

The digital measurement in the NFL is atrocious. The chain gang crew actually brings drama to the game and results in a much better product in my mind.
