Lane Train: $13.5M offer from Florida

I love Oxford! I don't care for the Summers there, but in the Fall is nice and I like the downtown. I don't care either way on Starkville, and would only go for a game.
Agree to disagree on MS.

I know you will likely disagree on this but AL surprised the hell out of me. Huntsville and Birmingham are great cities.

I agree. I also paddled from Northern Al to the gulf and most of the people were incredibly nice to a fault. I didn't cook the last week and a half. People came out in boats bringing loaded coolers and meals once word got out I was on their stretch of river. Also the best chili dog is in Opelika.

It’s the South. They will use tax payer money, spend every dollar they have for the foosball. Considering rev share of $15mm for foosball it isn’t that difficult for an entire state to come up with $15-$25mm for NIL every year. You just have to get the boosters to go in vs our retarded ones who hold it for certain benchmarks and cuck the whole program for their personal egos and power trips.
You do know Florida’s in the south too, right?

lol like that has anything to do with how successful their college football team is. Alabama is slightly less poor. Georgia is also in the top 10 poorest states by salary.

Watch out for UCONN - super rich state just waiting to build a football powerhouse

According to FRED, I don't think Georgia is bottom 10 in many economic indicators.

My in-laws are from Nebraska but live in AL now. When they drive back to NE or back home to AL they will purposely go out of their way and time it up so they can get a full tank of gas in MS because according to my FIL, it’s a very poor state so they have very low gas tax.
I haven’t worked up the courage to ask him how poor is he that he needs to do this to save a couple dollars in gas.

Was going by ChatGPT. Not that it matters where exactly GA is on list - still proves you don’t need to
be in a wealthy state to have a good college football team. In fact - looks like it makes you worse.

So Alabama and Georgia are the South but the state that’s South of them isn’t, gotcha.
It’s really not. I mean the panhandle and North Florida definitely feel like the South but once you get south of there it’s all swamp rats, alligators, and meth heads.

Gotcha. I think generally Gerogia is on the wealthier side of the southern states.

My view is in the NIL Era, endowment size will be a good proxy for future success (excluding Ivies). It won't be a perfect predictor (still need good coaches and buy in from fans), but should be decent.

Look at the last 4 finalists in the Championship. All pretty wealthy schools. I don't think it's a coincidence that by year 3 of NIL, the SEC didn't put a team even in the finals for two straight years. That ended 17 straight years. There will be outliers, Bama could win again this year. But I think over the next ten years, this trend will get stronger.

I wouldn’t let my dog take a piss in MS. Oxford is a shithole and Starkville is an even bigger shithole.

100% Mississippi is a notorious shithole of a state. But that wasn’t my point. My point was, Mississippi may be poor as fuck, but that doesn’t mean the University of Mississippi is poor as fuck.

Panhandle and very Northern bit including the Suwannee River is the South. Below that the further you go South the further North you go. Belize is an exception and not in the U.S, but it's pretty damn Southern.
