im completely OUT on Dylan

Carry to what? I think this team has the ability to win out, but it's easy to have that game or two where everyone's focus or energy is off and you lose. I wish there was a couple more RBs with a little different size and speed than EJ to help there. A lot is often asked of the O line in passing plays. I think DR year 3 will be a QB that is quicker getting ball out, and hopefully bigger RB room. Can they beat USC and Penn State? I think USC more so, but both are possible. Will N lose a game they shouldn't? Happens to the best of teams every year, but let's hope not.
Awesome. Just wanting your perspective.

I guess I was going with OP's top 15 roster question.
Off topic, but I’ve been curious what your affiliation is with the Huskers? I’m a NE farm boy married to a Dawg grad living in Pinehurst, NC (surprisingly lots of Husker fans in NC!). So we have a Bulldog flag right next to the Husker flag and I have my share of GA gear. We actually went to the Gaytor Bowl in 2014, that was a fun ride home…. I enjoy your perspective and I’m always curious how you ended up here. Go Dawgs (on our bye weeks)! 😁

I am still in Dylan's corner. He's doing things we haven't had a passer do here... ever. Our chances of having a great season, 9, 10 wins, depending on Dylan having a successful year.

But I am not buying into this wind excuse.

In the second and third quarters, Dylan was 5-of-9 passing.
The incompletitions:
1. underhanded pass batted down by defender in DR's face, trying for EJ in flats
2. Interception thrown right to a defender Dylan apparently didn't see
3. Short WR screen pass that hit Barney in the hands that he dropped.
4. The next play, short pass under pressure to Key in the flats that was off target.

I don't believe the wind affected any of these incompletions, three of which were thrown less than 3 yards downfield.
And included in the completions was our deepest pass downfield all day, the 45-yarder to Barney down the right sideline (which came directly after incompletes 3 and 4). The wind didn't prevent that play.

What hurt the offense more than the wind was inablity to get any drives going. We simply didn't possess the ball very much in those two quarters (until the final drive with the long pass to Barney followed by long run by Johnson).

And again, the wind had no effect on the sacks. There were as many sacks (4) in those two quarters as incompletions. Those sacks screwed us over way more than any wind did.

On our first possession of the fourth quarter, suddently Dylan is throwing quick, easy completions before he is pressured. These were not passes helped by the wind. They were quick and short routes. Why we weren't doing this all day, I don't know. It helped that Dylan wasn't being swallowed up in the pocket, which again has nothing to do with the wind.
Dylan needs to get rid of the ball. Can't ask your OL to hold blocks for 4-5 seconds on every drop back.

The level of whining on this board pales in comparison to what I’ve seen elsewhere.

There is really nothing wrong with saying ‘We won, but we’ve got a lot to work on’.

It was a win. Can’t diminish that at all. It was a whole lot less than perfect. Should be able to talk about that without getting the ‘Sandy Vagina’ tag.

Now I checked on a drink run in the 3rd quarter, and there are some dudes that need a valium pre kickoff, but that’s another story.
Just funny to me that people who never played football and likely have no idea what they're looking at are like "need to be better" after a win.

I do it too but it's gotta be the most annoying shit for a player and coach.

Negative plays are usually what kicks it off, and I’ll vent in game as well.

I just typically don’t post stupid shit about needing to replace our 5* qb because we had a bad run of possessions.

People refuse to be happy. If it’s a competitive loss then the mantra is that winners find a way to win and the record is all that matters.

If it’s a win but only by 10 without a certain outcome by the 2’d quarter then our QB is a fat fuck who we can’t pass down the field and we should all move on from.

If winning is what matters then people should chill the fuck out until we lose a few.

I don’t have an issue with people bringing up things we’re not doing well, even during wins. Problem is when dumb shit like moving on from our 5*, firing coaches, etc come out of one series, quarter or half.

Do we give them raises ever time we have a good possession?

Chill out is exactly right, but it’s good to talk through what we’re not doing well also.

Pinehurst? We're basically neighborish. I might need some chili dog intel from that area if you have it.
Huskergarrett was a regular over on the Dawg board I'm on. I think that happened because one of Talk'nDawgs founders helped him set up TPB, but a little cloudy on that. Anyway, he was a favorite poster over there and he invited folks from TnD to this board. Because he was a favorite I was one of the Dawgs that didn't troll him on his Nebraska thread, and he came up with #CornDawg. Some of us came to this board, but I don't think any remain from that first group. Then Jim and 2010's(who gets confused with technology and usernames easily) came over to TnD as well. I liked many on this board, and it's fun having a team to pull for in the B1G. Also, all this coincided with Rhule coming in which helped. I always liked Rhule, but no love for Frost.
You should get your wife to join TnD. It's free and has good info on the team. Also has the fans that have outrageous expectations and dumb reactive takes, but that is everywhere and I think TnD has less of it than other Dawg forums.

Anyway, he was a favorite poster over there
No chance that's true 😉

This coming from the guy who said Watson-Trent would be a tackling machine for Nebraska.

I have NO problem admitting I was wrong about that one. I still can't believe how much he has sucked. When players from the G5 transfer up after putting up eye popping numbers, they almost always produce at the Power 4 level. I'm still shocked it hasn't translated for him.

On the contrary, I'm equally as shocked how Jamir Conn doesn't look to be out of place.

They were 5-1 last year and there ended up being plenty to complain about.

Ironically, anyone who looked at advanced stats like points per play after 5 games last season could see that 2024 team was teetering on a cliff above a valley of disaster. They were 50th nationally a year ago at this time.

They're currently sitting at 14th.
