The fact we are comparing Dylan to Martinez is laughable. Only thing in common is both nice kids.We also thought Adrian was a Heisman contender going into his sophomore year based on those stats. There were people on RSS saying they'd take him over Trevor Lawrence.
Unfortunately he got worse his sophomore year.
When you don't exclude the nonconference Martinez doesn't change much. Raiola does considerably.
Raiola
Freshman year
274/413 66.3% 2,816 yds 13/11
Sophomore
118/160 73.75% 1,331 yds 12/2
Martinez
Freshman year
224/348 64.3% 2,616 yds 17/8
Sophomore year first 5 games. Enter the S Alabama zone coverage
76/128 59.4% 1,101 yds 7/5
Martinez continually shit the bed in crunch time.
