2025-26 Coaching Carousel

Florida is gonna throw a lot money at someone. And I’m not sure they know who that’s gonna be yet. (just a gut impression) But they aren’t gonna fuck around money wise after 2 quick failures.
If they could poach a guy like Matt Campbell, I think that is a home run for em. He can scout & develop & I he’d cost much less of a buyout as a guy like cignetti/franklin/rhule(don’t think they got a shot at any of those guys). Probably a couple other big 12 guys that’d be safe bets for em

I don't know that Campbell should leave his pretty sweet gig. I say this believing that ISUs financials are not unique to this current era and that most schools just haven't been as transparent about it. There are definitely challenges for him there but he wins and puts dudes in the NFL and has a shot at the playoffs.

ISU is set up financially among the worst in the P4 outside the california schools. Their AD was talking about their Big 12 membership as if it were tenuous over the summer and campbell said something along the lines of 20+ guys took a pay cut to come back to play for them. Probably rock bottom of the Big 12 NIL-wise

He turned down Florida State and Notre Dame pre-rev share. Do you think he would today? Every year it will get harder and harder to keep Cockeye state competitive and you can only hit on so many 3-stars before you end up with a bust. They hit on Becht out of absolutely nowhere. The only reason he started to begin with is because Dekkers got banned for life from the NCAA

I don't know that I fully believe anything that's said publicly because there is a strong incentive to exaggerate your situation to drive more money. I think ISU isn't in good shape financially but I think that is likely going to be true of lots of places dealing with rev share.

Maybe he gets a job offer that's big enough and resources enough to leave but I just don't know that those jobs are for him given that he's allegedly turned them down already. I totally get that circumstances have changed but I guess I'm skeptical he's about that life

I’m not sure Campbell leaves. He’s got a good thing going in Ames both personally and professionally. Their fans aren't quick to run him out of town over a loss. That won’t be the case elsewhere. That type of spotlight isn’t for everyone

Not emblematic of the entire fanbase but still very funny. After losing @ Ohio

Personally think it'd be a mistake for them not to hire TW. Just wish all parties could have held it together here for one more season before he finally jumped for a HC job.

Didn’t someone report that Campbell would be interested in the Wisconsin job? I feel like that has to be him or Leipold. I’d believe Florida will throw a huge bag at someone but don’t understand why Franklin would leave his current situation. Penn State NIL collective is solid and his teams are constantly ranked pretty high.
