My niece is engaged to a guy who is very close to Boerk. Even their dads are friends. Was told he was making 200 k here and was offered 500k + car and apartment . Nothing mentioned about bad mouthing but $$$ was the driving force. At least that’s what they were told
Feels like a win-win. Boerk gets paid his likely last season of playing football, it uncomplicates Nebraska's tight end room and gives Nelson more runway. Maybe some inline blocking will be missed but yolo

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule

***Rhule said there would be 11 Blackshirts, even though Nebraska only announced 10 recipients on Monday night. He said the final spot would come down to Keona Davis and Jaylen George.
They’ll play a lot of guys, but Rhule didn’t want the jerseys to be a participation trophy.

***Rhule said Vincent Shavers has practiced and looked fine after dealing with a hamstring injury.

***Rhule said Kyle Cunanan would be the starter “as of today.” John Hohl and Tristan Alvano are battling for the kickoff specialist role. Cunanan will be the backup punter.

***Rhule said there wasn’t much you could do with such a late kickoff. They’ll have breakfast and then do a walk-through at a local high school on Thursday morning. The team will return to the hotel, watch games, and then head to the stadium.

***Rhule said he didn’t even consider Arrowhead Stadium a neutral site venue. “This will be like a home game lite.”

On new Huskers in the NFL and Markway’s surgery

***On some former players making NFL 53-man rosters, Rhule said New York Giants tight end Thomas Fidone was “very special to my family.” He praised the work Fidone put in to overcome his injuries and “a lot of flack for him” during his NU career.

Rhule said Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB John Bullock was the definition of what their program was all about. His development from Rhule’s first day to now was “a great example for our guys.”

***Rhule said Mac Markway had surgery in Dallas and was back with the team on Monday. He said the surgery was successful and Markway was “in good spirits.”

***Rhule said Nebraska would take “80ish” players to KC. A handful of injured players chose to stay back because they didn’t want to stand on the sideline on crutches for the entire game.

Was going to the same. I think we should it to refer to the time when almost no games were televised.

“I used to catch up on all the games over coffee and bloody Marys in my kitchen each Sunday morning on paperview.”
I worked most Saturdays growing up so other than the score I usually had to wait until Sunday breakfast at my grandparents to read the Sunday World Herald to find out the details of the game.
