If that's the plan we're not very good at it considering all the players we've developed who have left for more money
That's a pretty shortsighted comment. I mean, it's almost like you're looking for the negatives.

What about the much larger number of players who have stayed? You don't think Shavers, Barney, Keona Davis, Lenhardt, McGahee, Railoa, Nelson, Van Poppel, etc., etc. didn't have offers sliding into their DMs? Rhule has mentioned multiple times how his players are getting contacted all the time. We know we stepped up and outbid a suiter for Davis.

But no, the plan is failing beacuse "all the players" have left for more money. 🙄 It may seem like we're always on the losing side because we hear about 100% of the players that leave. We don't hear about the players who have been incentivised to stay over taking other offers elsewhere. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it's not happening. Yeah, we've lost a few players. But overall, I'd say the retention play is working pretty well.

I'm not even arguing that, I just don't think what you've described is "the plan" at all. We pay out to a lot of unproven freshmen lol. I don't even know what you're arguing. That "We save some for retaining players too"? Or "they can earn more after they've developed and they are better players"? These are true at literally every school

College Sports Commission has turned to the most influential alumni base in American sports, the Haverford College baseball program, in selecting John Bramlette to lead operations and NIL enforcement.

I thought Haverford was a school for "special" people.

I think Rhule has been pretty open about "the plan." Of course we pay freshman something. We're competative. But we obviously have a limit to that and when its surpassed we say so long, like we just did to Thomas. Just like we told Charmar Brown that we're not going to pay him more than we do our starter, EJ.

This discussion started when you said that as soon as we develop athletes into good players that they'll leave for bigger paychecks elsewhere. I am saying we can and will give them a bigger paycheck to stay here.

Yeah, I beat the odds on that one. But I did just find out a guy we partied with in college is now worth $6.4B after his company IPO.
If you need a seed investment for a start up, you’ve found your man. The couple haverford grads I know are extremely successful

Out of curiosity, how old are they? If we attended around the same time there’s a pretty solid chance we know each other. I was class of 08 for reference.

I mean Syracuse hasn’t won much has meh facilities and just got a five star WR from Miami and has a pretty good class.
Fran is coming off a 10-3 season and was a monster recruiter. Worked for Rhule, Smart, Addazio, Diaz and Schiano all which have great things to teach and learn from and was part of a national championship win.

Syracuse could become good and fast.

Yee. Point is that we seemingly don’t have this level of recruiters. Which isn’t really a surprise when we’ve got Barth and Satt as full time assistants.

But I’ve been told recruiters don’t matter any more becuase everyone just goes to the highest bidder.

(I don’t believe this)

I dont see him sticking it out there for too long. Hes going to be the hottest name on the market this summer with another solid season. Syracuse doesn't exactly seem to take football serious either. I could see him getting a big time job really quickly.
