Stock Market/Investing/Day Trading/Speculative Trading Thread

I'm sure this has nothing to do with Amazon increasing their fleet of drivers and trucks. Aka UPS biggest client.
You relative that they have other customers besides Amazon, right?

I know you have a tough job defending these tariffs but c’mon brotato chip.

It doesn't. Lots of companies are pulling forward guidance as the uncertainty around tariffs still remains high. There are even some companies releasing multiple outlook reports based on recession vs non-recession.

Pretty extensive thread here:

I was referring to the cutting of 20K jobs not the outlook. I quoted the wrong post

Glad to help!

Also, The Hill story also mentions this:

“UPS also said it plans to close 73 leased or owned buildings by the end of June, and “may identify additional buildings for closure” as officials review the network.”

Emphasis mine.

UPS was talking about this long before the tariffs were put in place. Most of this has to do with them getting out of delivering for Amazon. That's their words, not mine.

Federal spending plummeted over 5% . Love it!

Higher inflation? I teach an online course on how to read graphs if you’re interested.

The PCE Core chain went from 2.6% to 3.5% this quarter. Does your online class teach implicit prices? Lmao.

Federal spending is up $220B
If I have a legal question about birds then I’ll reach out to you, the expert. Until then- keep the posting to a minimum

AI Overview

In the first quarter of 2025, the US economy experienced a 0.3% contraction in GDP, partly due to a 5.1% decline in federal government spending. This was the first quarter of negative GDP growth since Q1 of 2022.

ouch .. need to post data with a month of Bidenomics (the inflation king) instead of focusing on MoM. Serious question - do you get tired of being wrong all the time?

With tariffs set to start having a material impact in the coming weeks where is everyone moving their investments to while riding out this phase?

I'm not moving stuff. I'm still expecting that this is a de facto negotiation to attempt to change the tariff playing field so that our exports aren't tariffed at 2x the rates our imports were; and that buy-and-hold will continue to be a winning strategy long-term for most sectors.
