Everyone is obviously just guessing. My favorite banker quote of all time was some JPM/GS bro who told us on a call during the SVB blow-up that the macro overhang would last "anywhere from 6 months to 3 years."

Trump is pretty clearly setting insane tariffs with the idea countries will come crawling to the negotiating table with no leverage. The problem I see is that the more developed countries may just give us the finger and trade with eachother as much as possible instead which fucks us insanely hard. I bet this goes south and Trump offers up commerce secretary Lutnick as the sacrificial lamb and rolls back a majority of the tariffs
