not sure I get this interest but only know what I can see in stats. 3rd year player on a lower level team and only averaged 8.4 pts. Not a good 3 pt shooter either as career 31% shooter. Only 6-7 215 so more of a wing but don't we want wings who can score & shoot from 3? Also every season had more turnovers than assists. Only plus I see is he is a good shot blocker so maybe a good defender.

Was the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. Averaged over 2 blocks per game. He's a defensive & rebounding menace.

The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opens on Monday, and Nebraska enters the week with plenty of work to do before heading out to Las Vegas on Saturday.

I've asked around this weekend, and here's what I know on this Sunday Portal Eve...

***As of Sunday afternoon, Nebraska has no visitors lined up for Monday. If anything, the staff would go on the road for in-home visits, but I haven't confirmed any of those, either.

***One name I'm confident about is Cockeye transfer Pryce Sandfort being a priority target for the Huskers. The problem is that he's high on many schools' boards and will likely come with a significant price tag. It wouldn't surprise me if Nebraska's staff didn't make a trip to Cockeye City at some point this week to visit Sanfordt and fellow Hawkeye transfer Josh Dix, but Dix might be a longshot at this point.

***Another transfer name to keep an eye on is Gerogetown's Drew Fielder. The 6-11, 235 sophomore averaged 7.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season. I'm not sure how high of a priority he is right now, but he's definitely on Nebraska's radar.

***There have been several transfer names reported as receiving interest from Nebraska:

Brandon Walker (Montana State)

Bryan Etumnu (Merrimack)

Jaden Henley (UNLV)

I can confirm that none of them are actually in the picture with the Huskers right now. From the sound of it, NU's "interest" in those players was probably put out by their agents without much, if any, substance to them. Welcome to today's ridiculous word of portal recruiting...

***My read on all of this is that many of Nebraska's potential priority targets haven't announced their intentions to enter the portal yet. As the postseason continues and more names officially hit the portal, we should get some more names that are actually on NU's board.

***I also think a lot of Nebraska's attention right now is ensuring its returning roster is locked in before the portal opens. It sounds like most of the prominent players will be back in 2025-26. There's always a chance a guy or two moves on, but I don't think there will be any big surprises.

#####

That's all I've got for now. Stay tuned, but things will probably heat up in a hurry starting tomorrow.

I hope he's right about keeping the current roster together. Theres always been something to say about some continuity, especially in the portal era, and I think that we do have some good talent despite last seasons record.

Keep em together and bring in a couple key pieces from the portal and you could have something cookin.

I would love to land Pryce or Dix. It’s kind of crazy how bad Cockeye actually ended up this year

This is something I've been curious about. Last year we heard names of guys that were leaving (Wilcher). Anyone heard of anyone that's leaving? I haven't seen anyone mentioned elsewhere.

My guess is some of the Cockeye kids end up staying now with McCollum being hired. Great hire by Cockeye.
