I don't think Cockeye has the funds to keep Dix and Freeman. McCollum will bring his guys from Drake anyway.
There’s like one guy with eligibility left you’d want on that Drake team.

I agree. What Ben did at Drake is great and I think he’s an awesome coach. That roster he had though won’t be able to compete against the grind of the Big 10There’s like one guy with eligibility left you’d want on that Drake team.

Pretty solid info that Dix isn't going far. Cockeye would just have to be comparable to Nebraska, IA St and Pickle Smoochers. They came up with money for a girl. Would think they could come up with enough to keep their best player. Can Cockeye afford them?
Michigan is in the Sweet 16. Averages about 6 minutes per game...
Got Mast to stay just to hobble down the court
I have a potential hawt take / possibly captain obvious take. I think college basketball is now currently allll about money. I don’t think fit has much to do with it anymore. Sure if there’s a power conference tournament team vs a 💩 power conference team…might matter a little bit…but ultimately these mid major kids…the games the game…high bidder wins.
The fun times of March madness are probably over. How do mid majors win if their best players year in year out leave? And how could you blame those players? Welcome to the new system….
A CBA that could actually control NIL somewhat. It’s the correct take unfortunately. No parameters were set when NIL was allowed and it’s created a monster.
I think one way to reel it back in is when Uncle Sam inevitably gets involved, because there’s too much money going around that the government won’t want their hands on.
You want to transfer? Thats fine. Here’s a massive penalty tax on that money you just got from the collective. I imagine it like like drawing from your 401k early. If they found a way to implement that, I think that’d really deter the transfer game while technically still allowing it to happen.
Is that even possible? Probably not. Is it even legal? Probably not. But I know the NCAA won’t do anything.
