Seems we have Hale’s but does this staff actually have a closer at a position coach?
I just don’t think this staff wants to routinely get into big recruiting battles. Seems like they prefer to focus on potential and development. There will be a battle here and there (Brix, Nelson, Raiola), but the majority of our commits didn’t take a ton of OVs or require a bunch of attention/coddling. Quite the opposite approach of Riley’s staff, that was seemingly connected to a much higher % of big name players, but rarely won those battles. Our hit % is seemingly much higher because we’re generally not focused on really heavily recruited players. I suspect that changes some as we have more on-field success, but that’s where we’re at as a program right now.

Riley had connections all over especially in Southern California with Keyshawn Johnson as his biggest supporter. However, he was continuously battling Harbaugh for recruits since he started coaching at Michigan at the same time. He atleast did what he could to find recruits and get on them early with his satellite camps and etc. Callahan was probably the recruiter we had as a HC, but we were semi relevant back than and he was a Super Bowl coach as well.

We have 66 pages of speculation with zero transfers to show for it :ROFLMAO:
Everyone knows it takes us 90 pages to get a transfer. Do your part.

Maybe. I don’t think they are worried about a battle. We are often the first to offer these recruits and they commit super fast. Hasn’t stopped us from going after other teams Big time recruits and try to get flips. And we still offered a lot of the top 100 kids.

Overall, I think your ping about focusing on development is right. It’s not just that we want to mold the talent within our program, it’s that we believe in our measurable metrics and when a kid has those with the right attitude then we want to take them. And if those kids have all that, and haven’t been developed yet, that leads to the above point where we are the first to offer.

So we're on page 67, so if we do 23 pages of nothing but boob gifs, do we get a transfer commute?

The portal gods are a finicky lot. They could be very pleased with your offering, or they could see right through it and smite you for trying to find a shortcut.
