It has to be related to whatever the old coach did on his computer. There is no other reason an outside investigator would have access to Michigan staff hard drives. Michigan had to have called in the investigator and handed over the drives, and the only impetus for that we know about is the alleged computer crimes that were never publicly resolved.
So with the NCAA investigation and timeline, their punishments won’t come until after season. But if the B1G gets more information from NCAA, they can issue punishments before that. If the B1G sees the evidence, could they issue a B1G championship ban on Michigan and maybe even their playoff slot?
I know we joke that this means we won, but I also feel like cheating to gain a competitive advantage in a game should be a forfeit and not just a vacated win. In a game with zero cheating, maybe we stand a punchers chance to keep the game close enough that something crazy happens at the end (I’m absolutely not saying that would have happened) but instead they could just watch our signals and call their play based on that and we had less than the zero chance we had going into that game.
