Their record against those teams does not prove it is a talent issue. Simply give those teams Nebraska's schedule and they aren't doing better than them. Midweek I would expect a better record though.

It was the same when I played basketball there. Scrimmages were very even. The move to D1 has upped the available talent. Omaha continues to produce good H.S. baseball players that Nebraska ignores.
Who has Bolt ignored?
As far as your other comment about the 2022 class, I don't think it's as simple as you say. There may have been 1 guy we should've went after a little harder & that's Dalton Bargo from Westside now at Missouri.
So Bolt called him??Bargo wasn't ignored. Right before his senior year started, Missouri came late with an offer and Dalton took it.
From February 2023:
My opinion is, he received some poor advice/guidance from his summer coach.
So Bolt called him??
No need I will text Mike.Bolt rarely calls anyone until they've been on a campus visit or sometimes it's after their game with him in attendance. I'd have to ask Mike or Dalton to give me a refresher on the details, which I won't do during the season. Bump this when Mizzou is done this year.
No need I will text Mike.
So are you saying Bolt didn't miss on him when mizzou evaluated him on 1 weekend and offered.I did too. No direct call to Dalton. Mike just sent another one, Nebraska asked thru the Prospects if he'd walk on before Mizzou was in the picture.
I'm talking with his summer coach right now and Nebraska was in contact with him and he feels it would've been a JUCO follow. Dalton got hot late June in front of Missouri one weekend, as they were there for 2 guys on the other team, and the rest is history. No other power conference, or major D1 baseball school offered. This guy isn't a fan of Nebraska either, so I doubt he's blowing smoke.
So are you saying Bolt didn't miss on him when mizzou evaluated him on 1 weekend and offered.
No, they didn't miss on him. And Missouri didn't even know who he was, let alone evaluate him. Purely a dumb luck situation for them.
Hopefully Mike texts ya back soon.
Dumb Luck is better than no luck. I watched every game when Dalton was 12,13,14 and a lot of his summer with the Prospects as I was at the tourneys among every college except Nebraska. I have no idea which way Hale or the prospects were pointing him but the kid is a grinder and his work is showing up at Mizzou. No, they didn't miss on him. Hey there's nothing wrong with JUCO ball especially the Jayhawk league where my son's playing. I hope Bolt and company don't forget about that league. There are some really nice prospects there which they know from their A&M days.Eh, difference of opinion. Dumb luck isn't evaluating someone as you said. Nebraska asked about a walk on, Prospects said no. Not good on their end, it should be up to the player & his family, not an Organization to make the decision without consulting. Especially when said player had zero D1 offers, not even Omaha, the portal was brand new and passing on a D1 w/o spot to go JUCO was extremely bad advice for anyone in the 2022 class. My neighbor knows the family well, coached against him since he was 11 & was with his 2022 group at the MLK spring event in PHX so maybe you guys know each other. Omaha is a small baseball community, especially at this level.
I sure hope you're not saying Nebraska wasn't at 2022 Prospects tournaments because that's inaccurate. I talked with Lance and Jeff multiple times at the same tournaments.
He's a grinder because he took Hale's advice to heart, got his body right (late in the process but he did). That's always been the issue with him and without making that major body change, he's at a JUCO. I tip my hat to the kid & absolutely agree with you, he works his tail off & it's paying off at Mizzou.

Not from omaha but from nebraska:Who has Bolt ignored?
Pretty sure the hoops were still baskets. When did you play ball there?

Not from omaha but from nebraska:
Mike Boeve, hastings
Cam Friedricks Lincoln (Both in the top of Batting average)
Noah Griese, Millard south
Just to name a few on Omahas roster.
