They’re all there. There’s roughly 12 kids a year that sign D1 and then a ton of them that sign juco and end up at D1 schools.

I can tell you if you spend enough you can get on that list. And there are kids that aren't on that list that will show up at D1's

So you’re saying there’s more D1 kids in Nebraska than just the ones who show up on this list as signed D1 players?

All I’m doing is using this site to show the quantity of kids who sign D1/Juco in Nebraska each year. Nothing more.

Correct if you don't go to PG combines you probably don't make that list. Here's a D-1 kid that isn't on the list.

I don’t think we are disagreeing. I’m not using that data as anything other than to demonstrate there is a lot of high school baseball talent in Nebraska. You’re driving that point home. I agree with you.

There is plenty of talent and its getting better but you also need coaches to evaluate kids in games not on combines and PG lists. Bolt whiffed on the 2022 class in my opinion. Plenty of the 2022 class in high level JUCOS if he does his job and follows them they could end up here yet.

Everyone, take a breath. We don't need to fire coaches 4 games into the baseball season. We traveled to a different time zone to play a REALLY good program in their house. San Diego probably practiced 20-30 more times outside than the Huskers did. Until you play this game at a high level (I sort of have) you can't understand how different live games are. Practice doesn't simulate the emotions and situations that come when those games happen. Early season strike throwing is not this out of the blue situation that you all seem to believe. College Baseball players are 18-22 year old kids, not professionals that get 3 months of nothing but baseball to prepare.

Let's be perfectly clear, what happened this weekend pitching wise CANNOT happen all year. Veterans and new faces need to emphasize filling the zone up and letting the defense work.

We saw really good things at the plate from the Big Red in games 3 and 4. Anderson filled his role well and we saw power from all spots of the lineup. I think Fischer will crush balls in big time spots.

We aren't fixing a massive problem. Strike-throwing can easily be developed (naturally) over time. The pitchers have good stuff, the hitters pieced things together, and those will translate into wins as the season rolls on. Point blank, period.

I still don't think SD was that good. In all honesty they didn't mash the ball like I thought they would after reading about them and how they were last year.

If we didn't shit the bed I believe we could have won the series 3-1 no doubt. Anyways on to the next I guess.

Strike zones are definitely different outside than they are inside. Especially in adverse whether conditions like there always are in the most Godforsaken area of the country.

You're right. If you don't attend a PG event; individual showcase, team tournament, special event invite, etc then there's less than a 1% chance you'll be in their database. And not to stick up for them, but it makes sense as how else, unless you're that rare talent, will they know about you? It's not like football where they can access a film database and evaluate from that.

Lance & Jeff attend PG & PBR events all over the country, sprinkled in with some other summer ball (Legion) while Will spends a lot of time inside Nebraska plus an occasional national event. They're in constant communication with not only the Prospects but also Nebraska high school coaches, former players that are still involved in the game plus a few "baseball guys" locally they have trust with. We haven't had this type of in-state focus & effort since the DVH era. (Anderson had success by default, not effort)

As far as your other comment about the 2022 class, I don't think it's as simple as you say. There may have been 1 guy we should've went after a little harder & that's Dalton Bargo from Westside now at Missouri. Others like Brayden Smith from Millard South need a full year of getting game reps & I feel confident our staff has a close eye on him - and 5 or 6 other JUCO guys from NE, not just from the '22 class.
