I'm skeptical of the tenderloin because it doesn't have much fat but I'll smoke the prime ribeye every time.
Tenderloins turn out great every time. You don’t have to cook them very long. I’m just not a fan of the smoke flavor with prime rib. I would rather roast it. I honestly would rather have a smoked brisket than either if it comes out perfect. The prime rib and tenderloin are easier not to fuck up though.

Went to Sam’s today and the wife relented…bought a prime rib roast. Boneless so it’s basically a rib roast right? Gonna make it after new year because the younger daughter is out of town next week for practice and travel with Husker WBB. Will let you know how it turns out. Going to oven roast because I’m a poor without a smoker…

I just saw on Google that you're gay and/or named Dean if you like it roasted. Not sure if that's true or not but that's what Google says.

Maybe we can do a poll and purge all of us gays. Honestly I use my smoker a lot but prime rib is one thing I prefer roasted. I had a smoked brisket last Christmas which blew away the smoked prime prime rib

I agree.

Smoke a Brisket, roast a Prime Rib, grill a Ribeye.

I like trans porn but with beef I’m binary.

That's also true if it's cut in single portions. I've tried smoking steaks multiple ways and it just doesn't cook right. Hot and fast is the only way to go.
I’ve only had a smoked ribeye once my buddy tried making on a treager. I thought it sucked. I think you need the grill grates for any pellet grill because they get 200 degrees hotter than the 400-500 your pellet grill will. You can actually get a real sear from them.

I wouldn't say sucks. I'll still do it on the traeger if I run out of gas. It's just not as good.

Maybe he just fucked it up. He cooked it low and slow the whole time. I thought it did suck. To me crank up the heat sear both sides and eat it rare to medium rare. I have a friend who tells me the best way to cook a steak is on a cast iron.
