Are you going to watch the new Game of Thrones show?

Well they have switched the main actors with the time jump to age them up and the show didn't miss a beat IMO. The book readers will be happy with the subtle nods the showrunners gave us. A comment here and there by Helaena and Lord Caswell.

Really liked episodes 1-5. Didn't really care for this last episode because they cut out so much stuff.

Refresh my memory what they cut out? Probably should Spoiler them for everyone else.
i'm talking about Daemon and Laena's relationship, Daemon's relationship with his daughters, Rhaenyra and Strong's relationship, Larys Strong's backstory, etc. All of that backstory and they cut it all out. I understand that they're trying to move things along and they can only put so much in there but they left so much out

Spoilerish:

Viserys trying to merge the families into one and failing. There was a unique sadness portrayed towards the end of the episode after Alicent has run him over a few times when he is sitting there with his first wife's ring.

Also, they are doing such a good job with Daemon that he is a frustrating character. (which is the point) One moment you like him because he does something badass or makes a good statement, then he ruins it by being a moody, arrogant, selfish prick in the next scene.

Helaena being a "dreamer" is new and not from the books and I gotta say I like it.

Larys fixed his family's reputation problems and made himself his house's heir with one move.

How much page space did the book take up on this?

We are getting closer and closer to things popping off. (and I ain't talking about Aegon on his window sill)
Yep. Another time jump next episode. But I think it sets off the big prep of the impeding fights.

In Game of Thrones I didn't always like the changes the show made to the book material. Lots of times I understood the changes and the reasons why they made the changes. You couldn't make a show exactly like the books unless you wanted to pay for 20 episodes a year for 25 years.

But I really like the changes House of the Dragon has made. Most things are improvements and I have a feeling that one change they made in this episode will set up something in future seasons that would be really satisfying.

For some stupid reason I’m still watching that terrible show. How can this turd be the most expensive show ever made?
The Rings of Power really has been bad after an ok first 2-3 episodes. It does not have any of the charm or interesting dialogue of the Lord of the Rings movies/books.

To draw a parallel to GoT, the Rings of Power is suffering from a lack of source material from the original author. GoT struggled when they ran out of GRRM book material as well. Now we are watching HotD with GRRM's material once again along with his guidance and .....boom.....a great show.

I watched the first two episodes of RoP and haven't watched since, just couldn't get into it

You aren’t missing anything. It’s bad.
If you are going to invest that much money into a series, at least get some decent acting. All of the humans and hobbits are just terrible. They are all the same dolts like the prequel trilogies. The other races are ok, but damn the 1st 2 episodes were bad at least. And I REALLY wanted to love this show.

I've watched every episode of that lord of the rings but I couldn't give you a one sentence summary of what's going on. There might be 10 minutes an episode I was actually paying attention to.
