Let me preface this by saying that if we lose out I don’t think that has much bearing on Mickey’s coaching ability. His position group is solid, but he’s still got Big Dip Chin as a DC whose only area of knowledge is getting absolutely fudge packed on Saturdays. If Frost getting fired suddenly gives our players the ability to tackle in one week’s time then please by all means bump this thread and make me into the clown I am.

Believe me, I would ecstatic if we pulled some wins out of our ass. @lee_carvallo_12 made this good point in another thread. The black cloud of being afraid of getting your coach fired is now gone. There is some value to that, but don’t forget the ridiculous deficiencies this team has.

Mickey turning this thing around would be an awesome story. I would love every second of that, but here’s your friendly reminder that we are probably going to continue to be shit. Lets just be pleasantly surprised if something good happens for once, rather than have these hopes and dreams that literally never come true.

I hate that I feel hopeful after watching mickey's press conference. Could we have a Mario Cristobal at Oregon...Probably not, but I'm guessing Mick will be a guy the players can get behind.

We aren't getting any better. We may play with more focus and discipline and win 2-3 more games...but we are what we are.

Unless MJ can pull a couple DT's and inside LB's out of his ass we aren't getting a lot better.

Last year, Chins wasn't half bad because he had good players. Not saying he's a great coach but you need players and our def has some major issues at critical positions.

This defense is still better talent wise than what they are showing. Our defensive staff overall blows. I was hoping Chinander would be fired or relieved of playcalling duties for a spark. It doesn’t sound like that’s the case so we will probably continue to suck

There were some fundamental assignment/gap integrity issues that probably could be fixed, but who the hell knows
