JFC, what is with all the optimism all of a sudden? Have you forgotten our soul reason for existence is to be disappointed by Nebraska football?

Let me preface this by saying that if we lose out I don’t think that has much bearing on Mickey’s coaching ability. His position group is solid, but he’s still got Big Dip Chin as a DC whose only area of knowledge is getting absolutely fudge packed on Saturdays. If Frost getting fired suddenly gives our players the ability to tackle in one week’s time then please by all means bump this thread and make me into the clown I am.

Believe me, I would ecstatic if we pulled some wins out of our ass. @lee_carvallo_12 made this good point in another thread. The black cloud of being afraid of getting your coach fired is now gone. There is some value to that, but don’t forget the ridiculous deficiencies this team has.

Mickey turning this thing around would be an awesome story. I would love every second of that, but here’s your friendly reminder that we are probably going to continue to be shit. Lets just be pleasantly surprised if something good happens for once, rather than have these hopes and dreams that literally never come true.

Unless MJ can pull a couple DT's and inside LB's out of his ass we aren't getting a lot better.

Last year, Chins wasn't half bad because he had good players. Not saying he's a great coach but you need players and our def has some major issues at critical positions.

I think that the universe is not done dunking on Frost yet. I think it's an absolute given that Mickey will post one major upset this year simply because the universe loves dunking on Frost.

It would be incredibly on brand for NU to beat #6 OU with Frost's team just 5 days after the dude was fired. It'd be hilarious. I wrote this on TOS but I think the tweets dunking on Frost after that would actually break twitter for a day.

I expect NU to pull an upset or two but also look awful in other games, probably limp to a 4-8 season.
