POLL Yes, no, maybe, go to hell (need everyone ITT)

Are you N for $50/month auto-deduction for a 1 year commitment?

  • Yes, definitely

  • No, but might be in the future (state reason/s in the replies)

  • Maybe, need more info

  • Fuck off, it's baseball

Results are only viewable after voting.
When I see the Big Ten reverse course on their recruiting limitations for baseball, then I might change my mind. But until that point, Nebraska doing anything beyond a being a consistent threat to make a regional is their ceiling.

We've been close friends a long time, so I voted maybe but would likely be supportive.

Maybe if we had a connection to an MLB player who would do a donation match or something...

I don't care one bit about the baseball team so....

Set something like this up for the basketball team and we're talking.

📢 DISCLAIMER 📢 The proposal below has not been endorsed, accepted, approved, approached or anything else with anyone affiliated with Nebraska athletics, Nebraska baseball, Nebraska baseball camps, the University, anyone affiliated with UNL in any capacity, 1890 and/or any agency/advisor to any past, current or future coach or players, etc, etc.

This is strictly one fan with an idea, that believes the Husker baseball program deserves a boost. I do feel confident in getting a meeting with our coaching staff and also 1890, to propose this idea. If you feel as though you have a friend, or friends, that aren't on tPB & will participate then please drop a +1, +2, etc in the reply so I know how many on top of your (current, non-binding) commitment. If you have a business that is interested, send me a DM.

I will also have one other poll in a few weeks & that will be a higher donation/month amount. It will also have benefits/rewards, but some may be the same. I'm just trying to get a feel. If you have a realistic suggestion, share it in the replies.

100% of the funds goes directly to the players each year. Whether that is to cover their scholarship shortfall, revenue share, etc is up to the coaching staff as they, and only them, will allocate the funds in accordance with NCAA & UNL rules.

Goal
Grassroots $100,000 per year

Cost per person
$50/month x 12 months = $600/year
Auto-deduction, no exception

How many people will it take
167 total ($100,000 ÷ $600)
167 people is a very small number, folks!

Membership benefits (pure spit-balling here)
(A) 4 tickets to 1 home game (conference series, NU chooses which). Includes tailgate to start 3 hours before the game with dogs, burgers, sides & beverages.
(B) Bi-monthly newsletter email from the coaching staff
(C) Exclusive 1 hour early access to baseball fan day
(D) 1 signed baseball from entire team

Pay in full benefit bonus, 1-time payment in full
Above 4 items plus 1 signed jersey from entire team
$600 payment due by September 1 each year

Research the NIL rules moving forward, NIL payments will have to go through the clearinghouse and payments will have to show some sort of execution of service. I don't recall the unlimited NIL payment date, but it's close, that's why a lump sum payment was make to the wrestler.

My biggest client uses Jordy Bahl in commercials and social media, no baseball player is coming anywhere near her value for that and it's not much either. It'll be pretty hard to get $100k passed through the clearhouse without some sort of service execution.

Nebraska's revenue sharing is already fully funded by Big Media contracts and is capped at $20.5 million. You won't be able to donate to that, it's funded and already divided out.

It won't be in my hands to decide how to make this legal, it has to come from the coaching staff then obvious NU has to put a stamp on it. I'm just the one that is starting to send out feelers across different avenues.

No dispute on Bahl's worth.

Other schools have grassroots ready to roll, so there must be a legal way.

Hopefully you get/got enough to pursue. Appreciate the effort even if it does fall through for legal reasons.
