That's happened before, Alvarez at Wisconsin, stoops at OU. I've never seen a new coach on the sidelines for a bowl game. How awkward is it for Jim Leonard?

They made it sound like Leonhard has the head coaching duties and #2ndChoice is on the headset doing whatever I don’t know.

Thought the commentators for the Coastal Carolina game said something about Tim Beck coaching his first game at Coastal also. Wasn’t paying attention enough though and never did see him.

He was on the sidelines, but it appeared he was an "observer". The cameras only showing him saying something to what appeared to be a lackey, and he was not speaking directly to any of the coaching staff or providing input to them during the game.

They had a graph showing that #2ndChoice is in fact coaching his first game for Wisconsin. Also said he and Leonard connected on both being snubbed by their Alma Mater and needing to continue to work hard.

Mentioned that there have been a few instances of coaches starting with their new team during bowl season.

He definitely has some influence over the play calling. Offense is running a lot more RPO than normal and heavy downfield passing.

I don’t think that’s his influence. I think Engram is calling those plays because he can and they’re working well. #2ndChoice is a defensive guy as well. Not sure he’s influencing offense.
