I really think it’s going to be Sims the rest of the way

Trot him out there and run mostly option stuff with a ton of designed ground and pound. He’s a decent thrower but cut out the option routes where he and the receiver have to “think”. Give him easy reads and throws (slants, bubble screens, tunnel screens, quick outs, etc). Nothing where he has to read a safety over the middle of the field and let the play unfold.

Run 60-70 plays total, 75/25 run/pass ratio and see where the chips fall. Sims is pretty good on those zone read and QB sweep type runs- leverage him for those and option plays where his speed on the edge can make a difference and see what happens IMO.

I believe he has a groin injury that requires surgery to fix. Why he hasn't had the surgery yet, I have no idea. It seems like if his parents were pissed he played, why is he even suiting up?

I thought he looked “off” running that first zone read. He didn’t look like he was running the most comfortably. Kind of looked like he had to take a shit.

If he’s suited up, I don’t get why the frustration from the parents. They had to have known it was a possibility that he would play, given the QB situation. I don’t think they’re that fucking stupid to think otherwise.

However, oddsmakers have been overvaluing the Badgers all season. Not sure how they deserve be touchdown favorites over any team in the Big Ten West right now.

This is exactly right.

First, some of the situations that the media discuss and we do on the board as well are blown way out of portion and not nearly as big of a deal as we make them.

I could see scenarios where Purdy’s family says something like “We were really hoping he’d get another week or so to rest” and our fan base and media being what it is blows it up into “Purdy’s family hates Matt Rhule for making him play with a severed spine.”

But if anyone is scheduled to have surgery that week, what the fuck are you doing suiting up for a game that week? What are you doing practicing? Purdy may have taken one(?) hit in the game. He takes more in practice by a wide margin I would think.

If you don’t wanna play, don’t wear the gear. This is the end of the conversation.
