Why over and over again do we put playmakers back to receive a punt and we fair catch every single time. Trey Palmer cant break one for 15 yards? Fucking coaching

its like we dont tryI don't know about punts, but the opening kick of the game was there to be returned.
The kick return unit looked good IYAM. There was 2 I thought that had a chance for a big return.I don't know about punts, but the opening kick of the game was there to be returned.

ill have to rewatch, i saw opportunityCould be that we aren’t happy with where the unit is at and didn’t want to create a turnover for a low probability positive outcome.
I didn’t feel like the punting from NW left us with much. High and always had men down field. We had good coverage on ours too.
Wouldn’t that line of thinking go against trying an onside while up 11 with all the momentum in the world?Could be that we aren’t happy with where the unit is at and didn’t want to create a turnover for a low probability positive outcome.

You just inserted a wild card in your ability to assess logic. Someone was making the special teams decisions, then someone else made a decision.Wouldn’t that line of thinking go against trying an onside while up 11 with all the momentum in the world?
I really hope that wasn't a kicker decision at all. I'd feel sorry for him.You just inserted a wild card in your ability to assess logic. Someone was making the special teams decisions, then someone else made a decision.
But using “a reasonable man would” logic, you are correct.
That's why I figured they didn't return the opening kickoff, but it sure looked like something was there.Could be that we aren’t happy with where the unit is at and didn’t want to create a turnover for a low probability positive outcome.

Nothing he could do about that punt. Agree with everything else. That's the weirdest shit him not going for the ball in those situations. Twice is enough to make a pattern when they're that bad.Oliver Martin needs to go away. Whether it's alligator-arming a pass that leads to an interception or avoiding a punt that gets downed at the 1, what does he bring to the table that resembles anything positive?
FWIW - I used to avoid calling out individual players on message boards, but now that they are getting paid, I figure everyone's fair game.
