This seems like a decent spot for this. Anyone read the Red Rising series? I'm on book 5 right now and am completely loving it. Probably my favorite book series ever. Although book 6 still doesn't have a release date, so I'm going to have to find something else to entertain me until that comes out...

I need a new book. Haven't had anything since I finished the Jack Reacher books.

Started it yesterday. I typically enjoy shows like this, but I'll be honest, the pacing and general development are really testing my patience lol. I'll stick with it, but I'm struggling. Hoping it gets much, much better.

have you read any of Brandon Sanderson, i cannot recommend his series more. Also Pat Rothfuss has a trilogy that still isn't finished....

Tried to explain to my wife last night. She glazed over in 30 seconds.


I'd say somewhere between LOTR and GOT. More fantasy/magic than GOT but more geared towards adults than LOTR. Gore, nudity etc.

I got that and agree. I just went on to casting in general. Rand, Perrin, and Matt are good. Not crazy about Egwene. The Tinker is ok so far. He ends up being a warder for Egwene right? Lan isn't big enough but seems ok.

Edit: reread. Guess I didn't get it. How do things get fucked up during season 1 before its even finished. Maybe drugs or something of that nature.

It's pretty cool so far. Special effects budget is a little weak at times. Feel like they don't explain some things super well for non-book readers, but my wife is still enjoying it.

Just finished the Season 1 Finale. I didn't think I was going to like it at first but kept watching and now looking forward to Season 2. I never read the books, so I don't know how it compares. @Jim14510 as someone who read the books what did you think of Season 1?

I haven't seen the finale but I like it. It follows the book pretty well which I'm glad. Hate when they change it a bunch. Only noticeable change is Moraine and Siuan banging each other. They were just friends in the book but I suppose they've got to put gay in everything these days.

Graphics could be better as they almost always can on shows like this but I'm not as bothered as some ITT.

I didn’t remember it either, but at one point Jordan writes that they are “pillow friends” which is code for lesbo I guess

The school librarian at SF Washington pointed me to Red Rising when it came out. I think I read through book 4, until I tired of them. Good stuff for adolescent lit.

Rothfuss will never finish the series which is a shame. The Gentleman Bastards series is also fun but won’t ever finish either.
