Watched all 3 episodes last night. Following the book pretty well. Guessing this season will be book 1 based on the pace things are going. I was expecting a lot and so far even better than expected.

I like it but, to be fair, I probably always was going to like it. It does bother me that it looks like it doesn’t have the budget of Game of Thrones, but I suppose that was always a risk.

I‘m watching with my son who hasn’t read the books, and he thinks it’s great, so it’s probably hitting its marks with non-book people.

I did not see that about Mat. Hate when they do that crap. I think the Trollocs are pretty good personally.

I don’t like CGI for baddies, practical effects like LOTR look so much better

Its not GOT budget but its not way off. Outside of rhe drsgons GOT didn't have much for special effects really. I like Moraine and Nynaeve but not real impressed with the other Aes Sedai casting so far.

I think it's a little different than the book but its been so long since I read it I'm not sure. I was thinking he took the knife and some other weapon from the dead guy that was hanging. Gave him like super luck.

Sorry I wasn’t specific. Was talking about the recasting. Whenever you see an interview with anybody on the show, they will dance around why there is a new Mat.

I got that and agree. I just went on to casting in general. Rand, Perrin, and Matt are good. Not crazy about Egwene. The Tinker is ok so far. He ends up being a warder for Egwene right? Lan isn't big enough but seems ok.

Edit: reread. Guess I didn't get it. How do things get fucked up during season 1 before its even finished. Maybe drugs or something of that nature.

Moiraine is great. I also like Thom. I forget her name, but the Red Aes Sedai seems appropriately bitchy.

I am really curious about how they start to introduce the idea of the Forsaken. They made a reference to Ishamael, but I’m looking forward to that stuff becoming a part of the story.

Also watching, when they pegged Sanderson to finish the books, is the first time i heard of the Lincoln author. Sandersons books are good stuff too.

Yeah, I agree with this. It’s a better version of LOTR.

There is no such thing as a better version of LoTR, none of these series would even exist without LoTR…come on, son!

This seems like a decent spot for this. Anyone read the Red Rising series? I'm on book 5 right now and am completely loving it. Probably my favorite book series ever. Although book 6 still doesn't have a release date, so I'm going to have to find something else to entertain me until that comes out...
