What do internet algorithms think you're interested in?

For me, a few weeks ago it was non-alcoholic beer, selzer, and "booze." After that (and still), they assume I really need new pants that either stretch, resist scratches, or both. Starting price: $75.

Today, a new one on facebook...a bunch of sponsored ads to sell me honda generators for $74 dollars when they normally cost 4 to 5 hundy, and all through sketchy payment processors. Holy shit.

Last year, facebook decided I was really interested in horses (I'm not), and I had to opt out of several horse channels that I never opted into.

Maybe I'm too weird for the algorithms. Truth be told, I would like a few pairs of pants, but none of those in my algorithm feed.

My favorite is when my mic picks up me saying I need something and I get ads.

Thanks to Alexa and siri my phone can market to me for stuff I haven't even searched yet.

Those wire taps are great for marketing.

I honestly would like a honda generator for $75. I just can't understand how four advertisers all the suddenly have a bunch of overstock honda generators. I might bite, but right now my credit score is more important than getting a generator that I might use 0.5 times per year.

I read an article on argusleader.com on Monday about the South Dakota Little League team only needing one more win over Nebraska to advance to the LLWS. Then I googled the LLWS brackets.
