The strangest parts of this entire story are the ideas that UNLV would be allegedly throwing 100K at anyone, and that a QB who is a 43% passer and averaging 106 yards passing per game would be allegedly getting mid-season offers from anyone. What is going on out there??

He's their leading rusher by a significant margin, and looks like his value is running a spread rushing attack. 100k is pretty cheap for a QB -P5 averages are somewhere around 500k depending on which source you look at. IDK if he's getting competing offers, but probably a number of G5 or run-heavy lower tier P5 teams that would be happy to pay a similar amount for him if UNLV isn't following through.

Agreed although he'll have to get his numbers up in a big way or no one will pay him.

I meant, players in general deciding to hold themselves out to save eligibility, and later, enter the portal over financial disputes, real or perceived. Once one player does it, if there are no consequences, another player will do it, and then another. These won’t be highly paid players, they may leave but that will more likely be to tampering. It is the not so highly paid players that play key roles on the team you don’t want to lose.
