Frats are something that I have never understood. If this is true then hopefully they arrest the people involved and are able to convict. If this is not true hopefully there’s accountability for the false accusations.

I think frats in general are breeding grounds for douchebaggetry and people tend to use their frat membership as an excuse to basically act like complete tools.

I've never been able to wrap my brain around fraternities. Their behaviors; especially forced binge alcohol indulgence - is so fucking gross.

I never lived on campus cuz at least when I was at UNL the only people that had to live on campus were freshman year if they were 18 and had no other place to live in Lincoln. (and then it was only first year but you could opt out at will)


do they have to live on campus multiple years now? I don't see how that could be enforced or required, I'd imagine thats a slam dunk winning lawsuit

Also, I signed. I was in an UNL fraternity: Phi Delta Theta. Some good memories and some good friends.

Fraternities like FIJI need to go. They're a disgrace and give the good Fraternities a bad name.

Only freshmen to my knowledge are required unless signed off. Fraternities were the same when I was there. Freshmen and sophomore and up officers had to live on campus.

Frats are like any organization, USA gymnastics, Penn State football, LSU football, Baylor football, the catholic church, the boy scouts of America, etc., in that a leadership that over time doesn't hold it's membership accountable builds shitty culture that leads to stuff like this. It's really unfortunate that it takes horrible incidents before something is done about it. And it usually turns out that the bad acts were widely known all along.
