It's funny that the loudest MFers on this topic are Tyreke Johnson and Noa Pola-Gates. Two guys that combined did not produce a single meaningful play in 8 combined seasons of CFB.

I think there is ZERO sympathy in the public for guys like this not getting paid.

That being said though - Nebraska is a program that needs to have it's NIL be sewn up tight and beyond reproach. We don't have beaches or downtown Los Angeles apts to seduce people with. People come to NU for the $$$... we can't be known as the U that screws that part of it up.

The problem is, TJ is not gonna distinguish between ABM and 1890, he's just gonna say "Nebraska lies about NIL and doesn't pay what they promise."

And when he goes on Zach Smith's show, Zach is is gonna say the same thing: "Nebraska is a deadbeat NIL program". Nuance is not welcome at this particular party.

So the more this gets out the more the public will just hear "Nebraska lies and is a bad NIL school"

Nebraska isn’t a bad NIL school though. The NIL business funding players probably didn’t hold up their end of the deal and the players chirping the loudest are the ones probably who had incentivized deals that fell apart when they didn’t play much or at all.

I would imagine if 1890 plays the same bullshit ABM played the NIL director at Lincoln will have more power to actually do something about it…I hope

I agree. My point is that perception is reality in recruiting. Nebraska has to have a reputation of having a stellar NIL in order to compete w the big boys.

Losers chirping about being lied to isn't good for our reputation. The fact that it's not true or indicative in any way is irrelevant in the court of public opinion.
