Dowdell was 1. a much more highly recruited player in high school 2. produced in a limited role as a true freshman for a nationally relevant program 3. was brought to NU to be an instant impact early down/short yardage grinder (something this roster lacked).
Yeah, it's a safe assumption that Dowdell was paid more this season...
