Robin says Hixson is a lock at center and Corc might be playing guard

You also had guys like Sirles, Qvale, Gates, and Sterup prior to Frost who went on to do decent in the pros, but weren’t world beaters here.

You're either just not remembering things well, or implementing some revisionist history.

All four of those players were dramatically better than what Nebraska has produced up front over the last 4+ seasons.

Sirles- started 41 games. Was All Big HM as a Junior and 2nd team All Big Ten as a Senior.

Gates - was on an All Big Ten team three times.

Sterup and Qvale endured some injuries that slowed their development. But came on strong as Seniors.

One thing of note about Nick Gates:

He started 25 games at Nebraska before his 21st birthday. Short of being one of the 4 to 5 elite high school recruiting teams each season, you can't win without an older and experienced offensive line in college football, especially in the Big Ten.

Don’t even care what the other 4 look like, count me out if Hix starts at center. Done

I know they are better that what we have had under frost. Gates showed potential early, but was nothing special here. The best Gates did was third team all BIG and now he is having a pretty good pro career. You would have expected him to do better after his freshman year. Sterup also had a lot more downs than ups here. No one thought he would play pro ball as long as he did. Sirles was by far the most consistent lineman. I agree Qvale was hurt a lot.
