Trucks

I’ve got an ’18 Duramax that I may never get rid of, so I get where you're at.
Old lady neighor next door's daughter's family has been in town for a while now. Her husband has a brand new black Duramax. Man. It is sick

I haven’t heard anything bad about the new generation of 6.6 Duramax engines, but the L5P in my truck is pretty highly thought of by diesel mechanics and has been bullet proof for me to date. I know the Gen 2 that’s in the 24’s and newer has more HP and torque, but 445 and 910 has done anything I’ve needed.

If it does what you need and you don't run into issues, run her till she dies

Not to mention that 3/4 ton, 4WD bastard rides like a Caddy on the highway.

Road sofa.
Mine rides like shit lol but I'm extremely used to it due to trucks I've had in the past. My wife drives an Equinox and makes a comment about it every time she rides in my truck lol

Having owned 1/2 tons and then buying a 2019 2500 duramax and driving it for 5 years and now back into a half ton. Respectfully, the 3/4 ton rides like a lumber wagon. It’s nice for what it does and how heavy duty it is, but comparatively it’s ass to the 1/2 tons.

My first foray into the 3/4 ton truck was a new 2002 Chevy 2500HD..loved it, transmission got rebuilt and it never ran the same. Traded it in on a new 2015 Chevy 2500 HD, was going to drive this truck until it died. It died at 30th and Hamilton in Omaha due to a lady running the red light. Insurance gave me 31K, so I took 25k and put it down on the 2024 AT4X that is like @Quint said...is a road sofa!

2015 accident photos. You can see her Yukon in the background of the second photo...barely. I did a 180 and ended up facing North when I was heading South. She spent 11 days in the ICU and a long time at Madonna rehab. DON'T RUN RED LIGHTS!!

2024 AT4X HD - this is a dealer photo but it's what my truck looks like

Before they looked at the axel estimate cost was slightly below Nebraska threshold for totaling. The axel was want sent it through the rough

I decided not to get a truck. I go back and forth on buyers remorse lol
so you went from a truck to what?

Can't find my accident photos in my phone but I rear ended a guy last April going to turn in my check for my wife and I's taxes. Quite frankly was just zoning out looking at gas prices coming up to a stop light and rear ended the guy. Was slowing down but he had a heavy duty trailer hitch on his bumper so my truck got hammered. $7500 in damage. New front bumper, some front pieces of the motor got touched but nothing major, some hoses, new front passenger tire, lots of labor to figure out what all to replace between the bumper and under the hood. Was gone for about 2 weeks. I guess State Farm has this percentage of damage before being totaled system and mine was like 4% or something like that away from being totaled. Insurance only went up $4, but it was a very sobering learning experience.

So you had $3500 out of pocket?
