so is there only one transfer portal window now? Is a guy who transfers but didn’t beat out Lateef stuck here for 2026?
Only one now, January 2nd through the 16th. I think if they only want to do one now it should be after spring practices so both coaches and players know where they stand at that point. Too many things happening in January with the playoffs, bowl games, coaching changes, etc...

This is super interesting (and shouldn't be a huge surprise to anyone):

2023 class: 7 out of the top 8 QB's transferred
2024 class (Dylan): 7 out of the top 9 QB's transferred

You have 14 out of the 17 top HS QB recruits transferring within 2 years. Pretty nuts.

I don't buy the "you don't recruit HS QB's anymore" but I will say unless you think he's a day 1 starter, you don't pay HS QB's anymore.

It's ridiculous and sad.

College football is no longer an amateur sport.

Honest question.

In the era of 3 high safety shell defenses is it worth paying top dollar for a qb?

Defenses have out paced offenses lately and it’s turning back into more of a defensive game. Even in the NFL, qbs are struggling vs the new concepts.

You are probably better off investing in a couple good rbs, a plug and play oline or 2. Then going heavy on D.
Maybe a couple WRs depending on departures.

But just get a qb that doesn’t turn the ball over. Don’t need a playmaker.

Edit: throw in the volatile nature of the portal you don’t really have time to install and learn an offense

Overall fairly balanced. Most of the top playoff teams rely way more on running than passing in the offense. Minimizing risk of turnovers.
And truthfully overall not a great impressive qb room when all 12 are factored in.
