Me wanting an experienced starter in year 4 of Matt Rhule is not the same as Frost choosing Martinez over the Heisman winner and #1 draft pick. I'm willing to bet a significant amount of money that Kienholz never gets close to accomplishing what Burrow did.

And I love shitting on Scott Frost as much as the next guy (I was a very vocal hater), but everyone on this board would've picked Martinez over Burrow at the end of the 2018 season. I understand it's easy to make fun of him in hindsight.

Give me a 1 year gap QB. I believe Trae Taylor is the QB we hoped Dylan would be. We just need an experienced vet who can navigate us to bowl eligibility next year and not have us fall off a cliff. Spend heavy in the trenches and at RB. Let the young receivers play next season. Then you have experienced receivers to pair with Taylor in 2027.

Thoughts on CJ Bailey from NC State?

I ask because apparently #TIMKNOWS said today he believes Nebraska’s portal QB isn’t in the portal yet. Bailey isn’t currently in the portal but Logan Holgorsen just started following him on Twitter.

His 2025 stats:
69.9% - 2884 yds - 23 tds - 9 INTs
215 rushing yards - 5 tds

He also said this when asked about Bailey specifically:
He would make some sense, but I'm wary of Miami if they choose to get involved, he's from South Florida. Do think he's entering the portal though.

Why does everyone think Lateef needs to be the guy at NU at any time? I would rather get a 2-yr eligibility guy that allows Trae Taylor to sit a year and learn, then hand it over to him.

There's literally nothing that TJ has done that has flashed to me. Nothing in the run game, no ability to read defenses in the pass game...

I don't understand the desire to find a way to fit him into any long-term QB scenarios.

I watched a decent amount of NC State games at the beginning of the year and I like CJ. Mechanics still need some work, but he has good upside. I think he would fit really well with what Dana typically runs.

Would love to poach him and Hollywood Smothers.

I’m assuming Tim didn’t elaborate on who he thinks we may be targeting?
