Me wanting an experienced starter in year 4 of Matt Rhule is not the same as Frost choosing Martinez over the Heisman winner and #1 draft pick. I'm willing to bet a significant amount of money that Kienholz never gets close to accomplishing what Burrow did.

And I love shitting on Scott Frost as much as the next guy (I was a very vocal hater), but everyone on this board would've picked Martinez over Burrow at the end of the 2018 season. I understand it's easy to make fun of him in hindsight.
The Devil you know...

Why does everyone think Lateef needs to be the guy at NU at any time? I would rather get a 2-yr eligibility guy that allows Trae Taylor to sit a year and learn, then hand it over to him.

There's literally nothing that TJ has done that has flashed to me. Nothing in the run game, no ability to read defenses in the pass game...

I don't understand the desire to find a way to fit him into any long-term QB scenarios.
I do think he throws a nice ball and if he was more consistently accurate and better at reading the defense, the rest of his game would look real nice.

Will that happen? I'm skeptical but won't throw away a dude this early on.

Some shitty QB
*New coach*
Some shitty QB in perpetuity
We all die

I'm not saying he couldn't become good. I'm trying to understand why there is this desire to make sure he has his opportunity to start at this program, almost at the risk of not taking a proven guy who can start right away. It blows my mind.

It stems from people's pure hatred of Raiola so at the first alternative they'll drink the sand and say it's water.

I watched a decent amount of NC State games at the beginning of the year and I like CJ. Mechanics still need some work, but he has good upside. I think he would fit really well with what Dana typically runs.

Would love to poach him and Hollywood Smothers.

I’m assuming Tim didn’t elaborate on who he thinks we may be targeting?
Living in the Triangle area with a bunch of buddies who are state fans I agree and they would shit if he left.

I guess, but if that's the case you wouldn't care who the QB is as long as it is not Raiola. I think so many people went so hard after UCLA for TJ that they are digging in to not be wrong.

I just didn't see anything from him that jumped off the screen as something that he would accel at to build around.

Threw some pretty nice balls all game. 13/15 passing, for 3 tds, no ints and 205 yards. Ones that we have RARELY seen Dylan throw and complete. Made nice use of his legs at times. Avg 6 ypc. He was a 98.8/100 QBR. He looked pretty damn good imo. Probably the most complete game we've seen a qb and our team play all year. Now that being said, you can also be objective and realize they are one of the worst D's in NCAA and it's foolish to cement him as the starter based off of that. But to say it looks like there's nothing he would accel at to build around seems pretty harsh.

I disagree. Dylan had thrown far more balls that I was wowed with than TJ ever attempted. Dylan threw some pretty phenominal balls.

Are you a guy who disliked Raiola under all circumstances.

It's a little bit of fools good with a few short throws that broke for big gains and made up 60-70% of his yards.

I'm not. I'm a guy who got really fucking frustrated with Raiola far more times than I would've cared to though. I think Raiola is still a special talent and going to go somewhere else and be the qb we all thought we were getting, unfortunately.
