Trae Taylor transferring to Millard South

NSAA needs to enforce domicile.

We will see an influx of high school seniors, living in Lincoln, training at Nebraska, part-time attending high school, and play for that high school.

Transportation, cars, housing, food, all paid for by Nebraska.
TBH I hope they don't LOL. I want Nebraska HS's to be the new minor leagues hahaha

Have you seen his buy out? He will be here in 2027. Also the only hs class that was decent and is halfway together is Rhule’s 2024 class. So in theory that class will be old at that point and his development should have paid off.
Right wrong or indifferent; Rhule will be here in 2027 short of a major criminal event. When they extended him earlier this year, that was locked in with a probable lock through the 2028 season as well. NU has money (according to the NYT this morning the 10th richest AD in the nation), but no one wants to pay his payout and pay another new coach; you'd be talking something over $150 million for that just including one year of the new coach's salary (And that would be underpaying for a new coach.)

Yep. Rhule's buyout for the next couple years will be more than we paid Frost, Pelini, and Riley combined. He isn't leaving until MAYBE after 27.

are you proposing a rule that for sports you need to live in a district but to attend school you do not (in the case of open districts)? The change to open districts, when it was made, had pretty much zero to do with athletics.

Fascinating how broken high school and college athletics have become. I mean good for him and NU for finding whatever weird loopholes they think will benefit the program, I guess...? They're just making moves in a stupid system. But this just comes across lame to me.

I don't hate the player, but I do hate the game.

This game is a result of state legislation that has nothing to do with sports and everything to do with how school districts receive funding.

This guy think he’s too good for the benson bunnies?

I would put money in the kitty for that to happen
THIS I would respect haha. But instead he's just using his final HS season for the equivalent of exhibition games against JV squads. I guess I'm glad he said it's basically an early redshirt year for him to be at NU all the time though haha. No need to pretend it's anything different.

So it opens a door for us at Millard South, but doesn't it close the door at Trae's old high school?

Are out of state high schools gonna love sending their top guys to Nebraska and be totally alright with Nebraska recruiting more of their dudes to possibly do that again later?

This plan seems ill conceived.
