You can probably still go see some of them, just much cheaper ticket prices in smaller venues if their popularity is almost gone. I was able to pay some of the 80's & 90's bands in the 2000's fractions of what they got. Bands like Quiet Riot, 2 Live Crew, Missing Persons, The Samples, Dead Kennedy's, Molly Hatchet, Grand Master Flash, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Digital Underground and Ratt were all getting 5-6 figures to play a concert during their hay-days. Quiet Riot had shows during the height of their popularity where they were getting paid $250,000/show. They told me they did a South American Tour where they brought in over $4 million over something like 16 concerts over 6 weeks. Most of those bands I was able to book for a $5,000 guarantee plus a back-end split of the door and their travel expenses covered as their popularity waned. I'd set up tours for these 1 Hit Wonders and Has Beens with 4-7 shows throughout Colorado so we could all split the travel & transportation costs.
