The man needs more respect on his name, I think him and Abdullah are interchangeable on these list. But that Missouri game always just comes to my mind when thinking of the two.

Single best performance for an rb in Husker history

Man I miss good blocking and the ability for a running back to make someone miss or just outrun them 🙁

Also honorable mention to Jay Sims, the greatest 4th string running back in CFB history. Basically set every performance index testing record at Nebraska, but stuck behind Lawrence Phillips, Ahman Green, & Damon Benning, and only got to put on a show in mop-up duty. Would have started for most other teams.

Sims was fast af. Didn't he run a low or sub 4.3?

IDK what he got to eventually, but he was 220 lbs running a 4.42 & a 41 inch vertical after his sophomore year.

Is that good?

My top 5 is pretty similar to others: Rozier-Phillips-Green-Craig-Abdullah.

I like to think of RB's that due to the depth chart or other circumstances could have been remembered much differently:
  • Jeff Smith - played behind Rozier. Was great in the Orange Bowl when Rozier got hurt and good starter in 1984.
  • Doug DuBose - coke head and some injuries but still put together decent production.
  • Buckhalter - the staff starting Alexander in front of him drove me nuts in real time. Buck had actual IB talents, Alexander was a big, fast guy with little athletic ability if the hole wasn't there. Buck had a decent NFL career.
  • Derek Brown - my preference of the we-backs.
  • Ken Clark - just does not get enough credit. All he did was accumulate yards. Not flashy, just a workhorse and tough player.
