Just pull a swap and hire Joe Salave’a?Oregon's 247 Site
Nebraska DL coach Tony Tuioti to join Dan Lanning's staff at Oregon
ByERIK SKOPIL 12 minutes ago
Veteran defensive line coach Tony Tuioti will join Dan Lanning's staff in Eugene, a source told DuckTerritory.com. Per the source, the hiring is "a done deal", confirming a FootballScoop.com report on Tuesday evening which stated that he was Lanning's target to become the new defensive line coach.
Tuioiti has spent the past five years as a collegiate defensive line coach. He's spent the past three seasons at Nebraska and the two before that out west in the Pac-12 at California. An All-WAC defensive lineman at Hawaii in the late 1990s, Tuoiti's first six years of collegiate coaching came at his alma mater from 2008-13. He coached linebackers and defensive linemen, and also spent time as a director of personnel.
He also spent two years as a quality control coach with the Cleveland Browns.
The hiring of Tuioiti also indicates that current defensive line coach Joe Salave'a will not be retained by Lanning.
Tuioiti is not the first coach to be linked to a position on Lanning's staff. Oregon has already officially announced the addition of Kenny Dillingham as the offensive coordinator and Matthew Powledge as co-defenisve coordinator.
Since the 4 offensive coaches were fired we’ve heard speculation of different coaches tied to all the openings EXCEPT running back. Tells me that they haven’t even been looking. And why would that be? Coach Brown isn't exactly built for coaching kids in 2022. He's bad press waiting to happen.
Yea, he has a wife and 7 kids to think about he can't gamble that Frost is going to figure it out or not. Have to go with the safe bet for now.Sucks, but it's a smart move on his part. I'm sure he knows the SS Frosty is gonna sink soon. Now he's got good job security and a better job. Pry much better pay as well.

Probably because he was planning on making it work with a combination of GAs, analysts, and other full time coaches. He didn't have much of a choice if he couldn't find a ST/RB coach. You aren't 100% correct anyways. We know he was targeting the former Virginia ST guy who also coached RBs.Since the 4 offensive coaches were fired we’ve heard speculation of different coaches tied to all the openings EXCEPT running back. Just wait until Ron Brown says something about religion or homosexuality that rubs a kid the wrong way.Lol. Yeah, no
